It's been a month

I can't believe how fast time flies. It has been about a month since I traveled to the other side of the world. I remember this flight being very stressful as well as very exciting. I truly miss all my family and friends but this experience has been worth the ride so far.

I traded in Fairfield for ACU... See u Senior Year Fairfield (at least they are both catholic institutions...but of course nothing is expensive as Fairfield)

Project X

Well the movies at South-bank are only 5.50 on Tuesdays this is definitely cheap considering that the movie tickets in America are about 12-13 bucks.  This movie was not too bad and it made me want to go partying this weekend. Lets top this girls !!!!!!!!lol

Another Summer Night in Australia

Well it is finally Friday over here. I cannot believe i been in Australia for about a week now; time really does fly. I am happy that I would finally get to Skype with my mother sometime today. I do not have any big plans yet but going to the gym, pool and supermarket to get some essential things i need. I took the longest nap ever but it felt so good. Now I'm just relaxing in the balcony with a cool breeze and drinking wine. What a good life :).

Exploring Brisbane

We met up with Stella at 10am in Cathedral Place for a walking tour of Brisbane City. I purchased a cheap prepaid purple phone with unlimited texting included and International calls only used for emergencies.  Me and Emily also decided to get internet because it is important to check emails and keep in touch with all the loved ones. The whole group went to lunch on a local restaurant which had a whole meal for only 10 Aus.  I had a lasana, salad and fries( yummy). After lunch everyone but me and Emily went back home. We went shopping in BIG W which is like a Kmart they have everything you need but at a cheaper price. Then after that we got a bit lost looking for the proper bus station. but asked a high school girl ( with an adorable uniform) and she walked us all the way. We were both exhausted and took a nap, set up the internet, and relaxed in the beautiful pool and jacuzzi.

ACU

Goodbye Fairfield Stags and Hello ACU

We got picked up outside of Cathedral Place at 9:30 am and it took us to ACU ( Australian Catholic University) for a mini orientation . The campus is beautiful but a bit small it reminded me a lot of Fairfield. The classes " study units"  had to be approved by us and we printed out our  schedules "time schedules".  I have the best schedule ever I only have classes Wednesday and Thursdays :).  I decided I would do my internship hours Mondays and Tuesdays and have Fridays off ( so I can have a long weekend every weekend).  I would be doing my internship in Brisbane Marketing which i am highly excited about. We got back by train and purchased GoCards which we got good discounts because of our ACU student ID cards. Later on that night we ate McDonalds for dinner ( the cheapest thing i found so far) and  went to a bar.  I got a Margarita for 10 AUS but it was so good.  Ohh yeah did I mention wine is cheaper than water. Well good thing i bought a filter because i must stay hydrated with this heat.

Brisbane my new home

Goodbye New York, Hello Brisbane

I want to give a special thanks for my family for making this trip happen

The trip to Australia was very LONG and tiring. I traveled in Qantas airline from New York to LA and then LA to Brisbane.  The trip was about 20 hrs long and when the plane finally landed I was extremely excited.  I had to wait for a while for my bags to come and of course they were classified "heavy" ( good thing they did not charge me an additional fee). The group met up with Sue and Stella ( our coordinators) and called home to tell them we finally arrived. We came to our place Cathedral Place and I must say this place is real nice. It has a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym. Stella showed us around local shops and Westpac Bank. Later that afternoon the  group of six girls and one lucky guy met to eat Chinese " take away" and i must say the food was gross and overpriced. After eating dinner we all decided to call it a night since we were all tired from the long flight.
